Located in a quiet area, this home with 77 private suites is staffed by permanent care professionals who take the time to get to know every resident on a personal level. It is one of two Trinity Care locations that offer dementia-related services and was renovated in 2008 to ensure that all facilities are contemporary.
Trinity Manor Balwyn is fully accredited and offers multiple care options for the residents. Also, the security and well-being of the residents is of the utmost priority, and Trinity Care have taken every precautionary measure to ensure their safety and comfort.
Trinity Manor Balwyn have created an Elder-centred community by eliminating the hierarchy in the home. They have changed the way that they work by putting the Elders at the centre of all decisions. When they made this change, they “deinstitutionalised” the home and built a vibrant community. Trinity Manor Balwyn seek to comply with all the elders’ choices, as long as they do not pose a risk to staff or other elders.
They introduce pets, children, plants, and gardens into daily life. In this environment, elders are also able to be caregivers. They also encourage staff and elders to care for each other, nurturing their chosen relationships. Trinity Manor Balwyn have been granted extra service states which is reflected in all the services you would expect from residential aged care as well as extra amenities and services that have been appreciated by our elders.
From 20 September 2024, the following aged care fees will become effective:
The Basic Daily Care Fee increases to $63.57 pd (from $61.96 pd).
The Fully-Supported Asset Threshold increases to $61,500 (from $59,500).
The Non-Supported Asset Threshold increases to $206,039 (from $201,231).
The maximum Daily Accommodation Contribution (DAC) for refurbished / non-refurbished rooms will be $69.49 pd / $45.31 pd respectively.
The effective Refundable Accommodation Contribution (RAC) for a refurbished facility, above the 40 % fully supported ratio, will be $303,395 which will put pressure on persons looking for a fully supported placement, given that the average RAD is now higher than this amount.
The Maximum Permissible Interest Rate (MPIR) has not yet been finalised for 1 October 2024, however recent RBA inaction suggests that the MPIR will remain around the current 8.36% pa.
The Basic Daily Care Fee and some aged care thresholds are indexed to the Age Pension. On the 20 September 2024, the single age pension increases from $1,116.30 fn to $1,144.40 fn. This is based upon recent increases in the cost of living reflected in the Pensioner & Beneficiary Living Cost Index (PBLCI).

From , the Government has started to use the STAR RATING system for registered aged care homes (new homes will be allocated a Star Rating after 12 months of operation).
Star Ratings are displayed on the Aged Care Provider Search within the My Aged Care website.
The Star Rating is based upon 5 levels with the middle rating denoting only a minimum baseline of ‘Acceptable’ care quality and services.
The Star Rating System has revealed that 41 % of aged care homes are performing at a 5-star (excellent) or 4-star (good) level.
Star Ratings also reveal that astonishingly 5 % are performing below the minimum standards set, receiving a dismal and disturbing (Improvement Needed) or (Significant Improvement Needed) Star Rating.
We support full public disclosure of those aged care homes that are making the effort to exceed the regulated standards and community expectations.
We also support the naming of aged care homes that do not currently provide quality levels of aged care services to the frail elderly and vulnerable members of our community.
The Star Rating system is a key component of the aim for continuous improvement to our aged care system.
